From Viv Wharton of ACTIN.
‘Many people tell us that there is no hope, that the problems in Spain are in-grained into society and that the general attitude towards animals is bad for cultural reasons, or the government just don’t care and animals fall to the bottom of the list of priorities. We hear many different reasons all the time but whatever the reason/reasons of which there are many, things are changing.’ Read the full article here

well i hope the changes do come and ye it will take a long time something that should of happened a long time ago but for animal laws its so slow at moving fwd
This is absolutely wonderful and exciting! Postive steps and hope. ACTIN are fantastic! I would like to become a member, am going to look into it further. What a great thing that Viv is doing. After seeing the terrible information on Animal Fiestas I had a look at the Vicki Moore Foundation and FAACE, trying to stamp this out. It seems they have stopped some of the revolting things with birds but still there are the poor bulls suffering and being slaughtered in the thousands. Also there is that revolting ‘festival’ wth the donkey, although this is very closely monitored by the animal welfare groups now. There needs to be a wake up call and a realisation that cruelty to animals has to stop, it is not acceptable.

Theres also horse wrestling in Galicia – where
they run the wild horses and foals down to the village, then the men wrestle
the horses and cut off their manes and tails, and then they are chased out of
the village again, absolutely petrified and with no protection atall from
flies! Its posted somewhere on GN.
Trying to prove that they are ‘real men’ no doubt. Well real men aren’t cruel to animals. Sub human psychopaths are though. This is a sick thing to do to those horses and another barbaric ‘festival’ or whatever they call it that should be stopped.
