Tina Solera has been out catching a galgo again! Seems to be every day there is an abandoned galgo which crosses her path, even 2! And it’s not even near the end of the hunting season. What is wrong, what is happening that all these abandoned galgos are still being found?
This one was in a very poor state; Tina took advice from other experienced volunteers and finally managed to catch him and take him to her vet. (Bear in mind she has young school age children to see to whilst saving galgos!) This is what she says.
‘Hello, well what can I say? His skin is so bad and swollen, I had hoped it wasn’t leishmania but it is. He also has erchlicia. His skin samples have been sent away also for analysis as it is very bad. The vet felt it was a possibilty to put him to sleep but I said NO. I’ve already save ones the vet said to PTS. And found them forever homes!
Treatment has already started. He is in my garden and my dog Guapo will have to live completely indoors with me until I can find somewhere – a foster home – for ULISES to go. I already have some donations for his vet care, but the vet fees will be expensive.
The vet said this dog is MUY MUY MUY ABANDONADO… EXTREMELY ABANDONED. Many years all alone. They couldn’t even get a needle into parts of his skin. I hope I will get the support for him so that he doesn’t need to be put to sleep. No one has touched him for years and he put his trust in me today. I just couldn’t give up on him. Such a survivor.
My friend Jen and I bathed him at the vets and cleaned him up and he was good as gold. I know Ulises can count on us to make him into a happy ending story.’
Please, support Tina in funding the vet and medical fees needed to help this great survivor of the holocaust get well and find a forever home……………..how long has been been struggling to survive………….?

A big thanks to all the residents of the urb that helped with Ulises especially the gentleman that trapped him in the garden for me. The neighbours who were watching over him have been feeding him for the last month and desperately trying to help him. I got a call from a lovely lady who asked if i could help and of course I said yes! he is snuggled up now in the kennel with a coat on that Charlie made…. he will be fine but need money money money! Thanks for your help Beryl! x
Poor galgo deserves a chance after the way he’s struggled to survive on his own all this time and bless Tina for giving him that opportunity. I don’t know how she copes with the constant distress of having to deal with the aftermath of the crulety to these wonderful dogs, she is amazing and deserves our support. Times are tough for everyone and there are so many worthy causes looking for assistance but even just a small donation from lots of us Galgonews readers will make a real difference to Ulises and give encouragement to Tina to keep up her important work for these abandoned dogs. Donation on its way and thank you for rescuing him Tina!

Hi Suzie
As you say, times are tight for everyone, and there
are so many appeals on Galgo News, but even just a small amount can build up to
make a difference when a galgo needs vet treatment – the fees have to be paid
somehow.
Thanks for caring and commenting and for all you do
to support the causes on GN.
Beryl

Hi
Just go into your Paypal a/c – if you havent got one, it is easy to open one and for free – transfer some money from your bank account, and then click on make a payment and put in Tinas email address tinasolera@hotmail.co.uk, the amount you are sending, and thats it. However, you can also donate by credit card through Paypal. The website gives you all the details.
Thanks for caring, every penny goes towards paying for vet fees and food for the galgos she rescues, till they can be found forever homes.
