This galga had her leg broken and was shot with an air rifle. She is being cared for at Pepis Refuge. This is her story.
‘The galga we have called Twiggy was found at Sado park hotel, Mollina, Malaga. She is 18mth old with a fantastic nature. She had her leg broken so it made it easier to shoot her with an air rifle, one pellet is deep into her stomach which cannot be removed as as an operation is too dangerous. The two pellets in her leg have been removed though the op has left a very large hole in her back leg. We are told she may never walk properly again.
We are cleaning the cut twice a day, having to lift the skin to put ointment in with a syringe. The bone is clearly visible. She is also on pain killer tablets. As you can imagine, she is in a great deal of pain. She cries out when we change her dressing but not once has she ever turned her lip up at us, she has only ever greeted us with a wagging tail.
We know we are only at the starting block with her and she will need many more visits to our vets,LETS HOPE WE CAN AFFORD IT but in the 7yrs of doing this work, just when you think you have seen it all, this happens. We won’t ever give up on her because she must get well and we will show her she can trust humans again.
This x-ray picture clearly shows the air gun single pellet in her stomach which will have to stay there.’
