Lomas, Ulises and Jerez galgos – Silvia is their guardian angel in Valencia

Lomas[1] Tina 12 2010 250 This is Lomas, a handsome galgo picked up by Tina Solera. He has been to the vet, is now with Silvia in Valencia for treatment for filaria. He was full of ticks too, but the vet thinks, as he is muscular, that he has been running up until recently. He is in a foster home and, when the filaria test is negative, he will be looking for his forever home.

Ulises bath sarcoptic mange 1 12 2010 250 And this is Ulises. Remember he was another abandoned galgo rescued in appalling condition by Tina. He tested positive for leishmania and also sarcoptic mange. He too went into the care of Silvia. She has to bathe him every day and says that still the water runs with blood from the raw state of his skin. But he is a fighter, and he will recover, thanks to all the care he is receiving. Silvia says that if he had not been caught and started treatment when he did, he would have certainly died an agonising death.

Jerez galgo to Silvia 14 12 2010 190 And Silvia has today taken delivery of 3 of the galgos on death row at Jerez perrera, Cadiz. They have been placed in foster home and will be tested for diseases.

If you can offer her any help, please contact through her association Galgo Connection Spain.

It should be noted that all the diseases mentioned above can be eradicated by means of correct treatment and there is no reason atall, once the dog tests negative for a disease, for it not to live a long and healthy life.
